Facts and figures

What does the ACA achieve?

The ACA achieves significantly more than our activity costs, as just a few examples can demonstrate:

  • At the "ASFINAG- traffic telematics" audit, already during the audit, measures were introduced and projects under construction were halted. Through the re-dimensioning of the extension scheme and the construction method of the supporting framework, the evaluation of the effectiveness of the traffic control systems and their infrastructure led to savings of around 180 million EUR as a result of the ACA audit. To the report
  • When reviewing civil service pensions on a federal and laender level, the ACA demonstrated a savings potential of about 714 million EUR for the period 2010 to 2049. Reforms that have taken place in the laender of Styria (2008) and Voralberg (2009) have already implemented EUR 269 million of these savings. To the report
  • The audit at BPD Vienna showed a savings potential of 35.6 million EUR through better optimised personnel deployment. Just by freeing up executive staff from extraneous training tasks, EUR 8.4 million could be saved annually. To the report
  • By concentrating sites at Geldservice Austria, total savings of EUR 27.4 million could be achieved for the banks and the OENB. To the report
  • Lacks in personnel management, insufficent support structures, lack of control systems and out-dated IT solutions were causing process blockages and avoidable support costs of EUR 325 million in the area of asylum procedures. To the report
  • The implementation of recommendations for the development of the Semmering stretch have achieved savings of 11 million EUR by optimising construction measures on the viaducts and bridges and by omitting control rooms and renovating train stations. To the report
